How to download and apply a skin in Minecraft Bedrock
Every skin on this site is a plain PNG texture. Minecraft Bedrock reads that file directly, so there is nothing to install and no add-on to enable — you pick the file once and the skin stays on your account.
- 1
Download the PNG
Open any skin page and press Download PNG. Keep the file exactly as it is: do not open it in a photo app that re-saves it, and do not convert it to JPG. Minecraft needs the transparent areas, and JPG throws them away.
- 2
Open the dressing room
Start Minecraft and press the coat-hanger button on the right of the main menu. On older versions the same screen is the Profile button.
- 3
Pick an empty character slot
Choose a slot you are not using, then open Classic Skins and press Owned → Choose New Skin. This keeps your current look on its own slot so you can switch back at any time.
- 4
Select the file you downloaded
Press Choose New Skin, find the PNG in your Downloads folder and open it. On Android the file picker opens straight at Downloads; on iOS choose Files → On My iPhone → Minecraft if the download was saved there.
- 5
Choose the right arm width
Minecraft asks whether the model is Classic (4-pixel arms) or Slim (3-pixel arms). Every skin page here lists which one it is under Details — pick the same one or the arms will look wrong.
- 6
Confirm and close
Press Confirm, then back out of the dressing room. The skin applies immediately, in single-player and on every server that allows custom skins.
Console: Xbox, PlayStation and Switch
Consoles cannot read a file from storage, so the import step is not available there. Sign in to the same Microsoft account on a phone or on Windows, apply the skin once, and it follows your account onto the console the next time you start the game.
If the skin does not show up on a server
Some servers force their own skins or block custom ones. Check in single-player first: if it looks right there, the server is overriding it and nothing is wrong with the file.
If the arms or the face look shifted
That is almost always the Classic/Slim choice. Apply the skin again and pick the other model — nothing else needs to change.
